Thanksgiving 2014

15 Dec 2014

Thanksgiving - that time of year when you eat a lot of food and have a good time with your close friends and family. Even though I'm in no way American, I love any excuse to have friends over for a good meal. It started in 2010 when I spent some time in Kentucky, USA working as a camp counsellor. I ended up having my first thanksgiving with a proper turkey and all. I got home from my trip and in 2011 decided to invite a couple of my friends around for a Thanksgiving at our flat. There were 8 of us and we all managed to fit around the dinner table. The next year it grew to about 15 of and then the last couple of years I've been fortunate enough to host it at my parents beach house.

After a bit of a miserable attempt at a Turkey last year, I decided the theme for this year to be a classic Kiwi Summer BBQ. Everyone brought a delicious plate to share and we spent the evening cooking, drinking, eating and enjoying the sun and each others company. My very talented friends Devon and PJ took many photos and footage, so I'm going to let them speak for themselves. Check out the video below:

Thank you to everyone who came out and spent their weekend with me! If you want to see what we got up to last year, you can watch last years video here.
